THE NEW ROARING 20’S
2020 is here, and a very Happy New Year to all our customers!
To see in the dawn of a new decade, we hosted our Great Gatsby-inspired ball and, with a full house, this was not to be missed!
The venue had a 20’s makeover, with plumes of ostrich feathers in tall vases, and great visuals from our resident DJ Mark Burrows that fit the night perfectly. Our staff also got involved in the festivities, and took the opportunity to get dressed up for the occasion!
We were blown away by all the effort our guests went to, with so many really honouring the theme of the night, with ladies in flapper dresses and gentlemen in their black tie attire. Lots of fun was had by all in the themed photo booth, supplied by Dovercourt Bay Event Hire, and all the photos can be viewed on Facebook here.
Attendees were treated to live music from KIO, as they did a rip-roaring three sets across the night, and into the new year. It was a tremendous show from the boys as ever, with frontman Danny even climbing atop our bar for a song! DJ Mark Burrows kept the dance floor full between sets with a set spanning decades from the 70s through to today.
Then came the big countdown, which we did in style with a huge timer projected as the crowd counted down the final seconds of 2019. As the clock struck midnight, balloons fell as people kissed and wished each other a Happy New Year, before a sing along to Auld Lang Syne.
A wonderful, fun-filled end to 2019, and now we look forward to a new year (and new decade!) of parties, weddings, food and drinks at The Waterfront!
